Speaking of JIPCCC will you be adding an icon for Hope? I think I mentioned this for Vincent as well. I would do it for you, I took a look at how it’s done and it’s fairly easy, but my game is heavily modded; they won’t look the same as they do in vanilla.

I don’t even know how to do that. I know nonoodles gave me instructions for how to make one for Vincent but I don’t know if she actually implemented it. I didn’t know how to use GECK at the time so she did pretty much all the modding for Vincent and Hope.

JIPCCC Has a tutorial actually. Basically what happens is you install a mod that helps you isolate your NPC to take a good screenshot, then it explains how to open the screenshot in a graphic program (Photoshop was used in the example,) edit it slightly, then save the image as a .dds file. Then include the image in a file letting it replace Data\Textures\jazzisparis\ccc, as that’s the path the mod uses to look for the image for the control bar.
I hope I explained that well enough. The tutorial is actually well written.

I think Slasher might have his “Let’s trade.” dialogue topic not set properly? I had to set it to “Top-level” in his dialogue settings in FO3Edit to get it to display in game.

Is there a walk-through document for this quest? I cannot work out the code to input into the console (has to do with bill of rights etc)…

Thanks, will take a look. Oh, but if you can, in the future please report bugs here:

Not a big deal, I just want to separate discussion and feedback from the bug squashing.
Edit: And you’re right, wasn’t top level. Re-uploaded with fix:

Virgil will give hints, but basically it comes down to this:
1st Amendment – Freedom of the press. The Capital Post Logo is the hint. Look at the shape surrounding it.
2nd Amendment – Right to bear arms. Location is L.O.B. enterprises. This one is pretty straightforward. You find the Enclave soldier and find blood trailing from his hand to the chalkboard.
3rd Amendment – Quartering of troops. The National Guard Depot has the answer. The terminal there will mention the flag and the colors of bravery.
4th amendment – Search and Seizure. The original terminal mentions The McClellan Family. Look for the home across the street from the McClellan Townhome and search it.

I love you and your teams work. Interesting NPC’s is a must have mod for me when I play Skyrim, which is why I was excited to see you making something for Fallout 3. One question, will you at some point be combining at least some of the ESM’s for 3DNPC Fallout Bundle. My load order is fairly large as is and the 11 ESM’s in the zip file seem like an awful lot.

I’m not sure if there is an equivalent to TES5Edit and its v1.9 Merge Plugin script for Fallout 3/NV, but if there is I would recommend giving it a shot :)
(FO3 broke my heart once already… I don’t want to risk it again. Curse you, Bugthesta!)

@Ryan
Yeah, I’m going modular this time just to test out the pros/cons before deciding on an approach to Fallout 4. Right now I haven’t come across a good reason to merge them, outside of the inconvenience of ticking 20 boxes instead of one.
My load order is fairly large as is and the 11 ESM’s in the zip file seem like an awful lot.
For instance, is this simply a convenience thing, or are you nearing the 255 plugin limit? As far as I know, that’s the only time it would make a difference. I figured it’s kind of like having 12 slices of pizza instead of one round pizza. Takes up the same amount of space.
Now, there is going to be a hard limit of 255 to the total amount of plugins including the vanilla modules, which is not a memory/performance thing so much as an indexing problem, because each mod plugin needs a specific ID prefix. From the internet:
The first 8 bits are reserved for the plugin ID, ergo (because 2^8 = 256), you are limited to 255.
Meaning, I can make 300 plugins that do absolutely nothing and have no impact on your game, but you wouldn’t be able to load them all because of the module limit.
As far as I’m aware, that’s the only issue with going modular, but granted I’m not all that well versed on the matter. Is there another problem associated with modular plugins that would be rectified by a single module?

I finally got around to finishing Hope’s quest and I noticed a few things. First, one of her exit conversation lines about Boulder City didn’t play its audio. I don’t remember the line exactly, but I caught a bit of the end of it, “Big Horn Saloon is where he’ll be.” This could have also been a vanilla bug where a follower’s audio doesn’t play when you exit conversation with them though, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to check.
After we went to the Big Horn Saloon, and had our conversation with Gomez, Hope went into the true reason she’s on her quest; this all fired off without a hitch, except for one small thing. During the conversation her eyes began to blink independently of each other. I was able to replicate this 4 times.
Got to Vault 22, the audio for one of her “check elevator” lines didn’t play. And when we got to the extra garden level I was having horrible stutters in the lower room where the orchid was. I am using various visual overhaul, bug fix, and stutter remover mods (DYNAVISION 3, FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting, Interior Lighting Overhaul, Nevada Skies, New Vegas Enhanced Camera, EVE – Essential Visual Enhancements, FlashlightNVSE, just to name a few on the overhaul front) so it really could be anything that’s causing the stutters in that room.
The instant teleport to Pastor Lies was kind of jarring. The screen went black, white, then black again followed by a loading wheel. I think maybe using the pass out screen transition from Dead Money might be a good idea instead, but I understand not using it, wanting to keep the mod from relying on the DLC as a master.
When speaking with Pastor Lies the only thing I noticed was that the subtitles referred to the Courier as a “He” despite their gender and when the audio said “she.” Also after the conversation was over, when I tried to talk to Pastor Lies I got a freeze up and zoom in as if the game tried to start dialogue with him, but I was quickly zoomed out.
And yes, I looted the crap out of that space/heaven bar place. None of it was owned so I took just about everything that wasn’t nailed down. xD
I think the only thing I would have liked, as a suggestion, was to be able to access some of the other dialogue topics with Hope during the end of the quest in Goodsprings. There were lines my Courier would have liked to ask, as she considers Hope a friend, but wasn’t able to because some lines seemed more important to ask first.
Finally, when the quest is over I go into Hope’s inventory and notice some of her items and weapons have returned/duplicated. Not really an issue, but might not be intended so I’ll mention it. All in all though I had fun with Hope’s quest. :3

Oh! And it seems the location line at Novac about Dinky Dino doesn’t have audio playing. Almost forgot.

I’m gonna give it another run through.
Just realized I’m still running the first version of this mod, can’t wait to try the next version for all those idle commentaries! :)

ANOTHER mod?! Seriously, do you even sleep? Are you some kind of android-human hybrid? ;) I’m gonna have to quit my day job just to have time to play all this before I’m dead.
